In our last tutorial, Michele spoke of the action of redaction and how I felt about it. It made me think immediately of one of the pages from my MSc thesis that I’d already worked on and used the extraction of the fraction from the first paragraph.
I think I’ll try using this page again, but using a slightly different method of Found Poetry. I will start with the ‘free-form excerpting and remixing’ type. I’m trying to consider how this will apply to the premise that art and science are deriving different meanings from the same words and perhaps reaching a consensus or very opposing perspectives, and also examine how I feel about the act of redacting my own, and very first published, work where every word was carefully chosen to construct a logical and clear outcome.
