I have just had an email from Arts Care to say they are expecting 3 exhibits for their latest PRIME exhibition in February/March, with the theme ‘Here Now’. I submitted 3 images of my ‘observations on everyday life’, inspired by the work of Georges Perec. I thought I had missed out this year, as I’d put in the expression of interest a couple of weeks ago. I’ve exhibited with them twice before, and they had always replied very quickly. The exhibition will be at Connswater shopping centre and it’s aimed at artists over 60.
I’d mentioned I would put in collages of the details from my everyday walks ( 1) a walk in the woods; 2) a walk on the beach; 3) a day where I’d travelled by train to the Belfast College of Art for a tutorial and back again) which I’ve included in my presentation at the end of the first semester of the MFA, but I might include ICMs too.
I think I forgot to pick up my images from the last PRIME exhibition. I had used my ‘good’ frames too. I want to get some light weight frames for this one, so I don’t have to worry about carrying them or bringing the car to this part of Belfast where it’s difficult to park.
I wont print them yet, until I have the frames and mounts to fit, but I can write a short blurb for each collage/print now. (I ordered one frame last night.)
