We are in the pause between the first and second modules of the MA at present. In the first module I was looking for, and found, a portfolio group of themes under the umbrella of TIME.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Theme One was the observation and examination of the infra-ordinary, the endotic – observing everyday objects and daily and repeated events in detail, influenced by the work of Perec, and also the evocation of past events by simple objects, a Proustian …. (finish).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I want to extend my work, which has been, until now, mainly making digital composites of images from the 1970s that represent the era when I was in Canada doing a MSc in physics into work which would involve physical collage, mixed media and hybrid photography. (I don’t want to just represent the era and my feelings of that time, but also how the feelings change with time as I change with time).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the pause I would like to try different ways of making these hybrid images. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I think I will have to seal the digital images with some varnish or other protective means if I want to keep the integrity of the digital image, but that might not always be the case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I’m going to play with some of these techniques during this break period. I’ve already acquire some gel plates and a laser printer. I need to get my desktop computers upgraded with SSDs and install some software and connect the laser printer,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When we restart I’ll have a talk with my tutor about whether I should pursue this (for the MA, I want to do it anyway, for fun), or is this is too much of a deviation from Perec’s ideas, if I turn the images of the infra-ordinary, the endotic, into something exotic.
